About the event
Who is this class for?
Women’s Basic Pistol, Women’s Intermediate Pistol, and Women’s Defensive Pistol. Each module
will address beginners, including those who have NEVER touched a handgun, intermediate, and to
the more “seasoned” shooter.
What subjects will be reviewed?
Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and then built upon (stance, grip, sight
alignment, sight picture, trigger control, breath control, follow through), racking the slide, loading
magazine, and shooting live fire, while also exploring situational awareness, common types of
handguns & choosing the right weapon for you (holster and conceal carry options, inside & outside
the waist band, conceal carry purses & bags, bra, thigh, and ankle), nomenclature of a bullet, cycle
of operations, ammunition types, malfunctions, firearms handling skills, defensive pistol
fundamentals, and the use of deadly force.
We will be examining real life situations and having open dialogue using scenarios that are likely to
occur to us as women. This class will push your comfort zone! But the biggest difference is you have
a class full of women here to encourage and lift you up!!!
What to bring?
A pistol, handgun, or revolver (if you prefer) and approximately 50 rounds of appropriate
ammunition. A magazine or 2 (or 3, 4, 5…). Hearing and eye protection (prescription glasses count
as protection). Closed toed shoes.
If you have No gun, No ammo, and NO hearing or eye protection. DO NOT DESPAIR! American
Arms has guns for you to rent and ammo to purchase and will lend you hearing and eye protection.
We even have SNACKS! Water and coffee are provided for free and so are the granola bars. This is
a class that is scheduled for 8 hours, which doesn’t mean it will take us that long, however, we will
break for a ½ hour to allow you to eat a lunch, or you can leave to go to the near-by Johnny’s
Junction (there is a Dollar General, a Marathon Gas station, and a gas station across the SR 37
highway that has sandwiches).

time in your life but could save your life because you had that knowledge.
